Position Details:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager on ourSite Reliability Engineeringteam, which plays a pivotal role in providing a great experience for our customers and team members. You will provide technical leadership and build our observability roadmap. You will partner closely with our engineering teams to ensure new features are ready for production and identify ways to optimize our performance and reliability.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering and can be based in downtown Chicago, Illinois.

You Will:

  • Evangelize performance and reliability goals by collaborating with development teams
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute on opportunities to optimize the customer experience by improving the availability, resiliency, and performance of our applications
  • Lead and develop a high-caliber diverse team of engineers
  • Build and execute on an observability roadmap, in expansion and evolution of additional features and capabilities
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop technical solutions

You Have:

  • Experience with observability, distributed tracing, monitoring tools
  • Experience with incident management, and CI/CD
  • Experience with content delivery networks (Akamai, Fastly)
  • Experience establishing and measuring OKRs
  • Demonstrated business knowledge and organizational awareness.
  • Passion for Agile principles and processes and an understanding of how to monitor team health. Experience with Kanban and Scrum a plus.
  • Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, with the ability to discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience promoting collaboration to guide strategy and inform continuous improvement.
  • Deep passion for servant leadership and the knowledge of how to apply these principles from the perspective of people management.
  • Creativity, Critical thinking, and an appetite for continuous learning
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related disciplines or equivalent work experience, Master's Degree a plus
