Technical Designer - SolidWorks
 
THE CHALLENGE:

Sterling Engineering is assisting a premier client in the search for a Technical Designer – Solidworks. This position is located near Milwaukee, WI. In this role the Technical Designer will be expected to prepare complex models, layouts, assemblies, drawings and specifications utilizing Solidworks. Experience with data entry into PDM (Product Data Management) system is required.
 
THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
 
-Prepare product designs which are accurate, clear and conform to recognized drafting practices and company policies, procedures and standards.
-Check drawings and specifications prepared by other CAD designers as assigned.
-Review supplier drawings for compliance with specifications and dimensional compatibility with mating components or assemblies.
-Complete assignments on time with minimal supervision.  Guide other designers as assigned.
-Strong mechanical aptitude, experience with machined parts, bent plates, weldments and overall machinery/heavy machinery.
-Experience running piping/conduits/hoses in a mechanical setting a plus.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
-2 year degree or equivalent work experience with advanced knowledge of drafting practices.
-Proficient in 3D CAD, specifically Solidworks, but will consider experience with other packages.
-Autocad a plus.
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
-Candidates will be given a Solidworks test onsite during interview process.
